| The Forum Institute was created in 2009. The Forum Institute is a think tank designed to bring experts in many fields together to assess the current state of knowledge and to determine the most promising directions for treatment and research. The Forum Institute supports high-quality, independent research designed to address four primary goals: - identify and develop effective medical and behavioral treatments for individuals with ASD;
- provide mechanisms for disseminating this treatment information to individuals with ASD and their families, to professionals serving individuals and families impacted by ASD, and to the general public;
- assist in the development of community-based programs that help and support those affected by ASD; and
- influence the development of policy that facilitates treatment, research, and funding for ASD identification, evaluation, and intervention.

|  | | Gleason Eakin is a founder of NWAF, and former Board Member. He worked in public school for over four decades; first as a teacher/counselor/coach for grades K-12, and then as the Dean of Student Development at Mt. Hood Community College. In addition to his service as a professional educator, Gleason is a successful entrepreneur. He has founded and served on the boards of numerous local Oregon businesses. Gleason was recently appointed by Oregon’s Governor to serve on the Oregon Commission on Autism Spectrum Disorders.

|  | | David Humphrey, Esq. has devoted tremendous time and energy during the past 11 years to work involving chronically ill children and children on the autism spectrum. He is a member of the national boards of various non-profit organizations including Northwest Autism Foundation (NWAF), The Forum, Autism Society of America (ASA), and the Autism Research Institute (ARI). He co-founded the Autism Treatment Network (ATN), which continues under Autism Speaks and founded the Autism Coalition for Treatment (ACT), which focuses on establishing treatment services globally for individuals with autism and holds international consensus conferences on issues relating to children’s health. He is an attorney and a successful entrepreneur. He is also the President and owner of Kirkman Group, Inc., a group of companies that includes a pharmaceutical/nutraceutical company and an environmental laboratory. He graduated near the top of his class from the University of Washington School of Law. |
|  | | Lee Grossman: Along with his role with The Forum Institute, Lee is President and CEO of Advance Enterprises, LLC, a global consulting firm specializing in working with corporations and nonprofits in the health sector to create successful social enterprises and advising health and/or medical related firms on product design and delivery and organizational excellence. He was also the CEO of the Association for Vascular Access and sits on numerous boards related to improving healthcare. From 2004-2011, he served as the President and CEO of the Autism Society, was the President of the Autism Society of America Foundation, and publisher of the Autism Advocate journal. While at the Autism Society, he oversaw the nation’s largest grassroots autism organization, with over 190,000 members and supporters and 160 chapters across the U.S. Lee also initiated strategic partnerships with Easter Seals, the Autism Research Institute, and the Celtic Nations for Autism, the Autism Society of the Philippines and the Autism Society of Parents in Hong Kong to deal with disability services issues and led coalitions that resulted in raising over $1.2 billion in funding. A frequent speaker on international health issues, Lee has presented four times at the United Nations. Prior to his position at the Autism Society, Lee owned a business for 25 years that specialized in consulting to the medical industry.
