Media has unique power to shatter myths or reinforce stereotypes about 59 million Americans with disabilities.
Tari Hartman Squire’s EIN SOF Communications (specializing in disability-inclusive diversity strategic marketing and employment) and Loreen Arbus created and produce the LCA2.0 Collaborative with three objectives:
- Increase employment of people with disabilities in front of, and behind the camera;
- Improve disability portrayals;
- Enhance access to media with captions and audio descriptions.
LCA2.0 is developing strategic planning and creating dynamic collaborations with partners in media including television, advertising, movies, news, theatre and interactive.
Building on the success of LCA2.0 regional resume review, speed interview and flash mentoring Summits in 2016 and 2017 that resulted in auditions, interviews and hires of people with disabilities in front of and behind the camera, we are leveraging momentum.
